Several representatives of Shreveport Writers Club visited Montclair Assisted Living Center on Wednesday, February 11, to present the memorial copy of
Hubcap Biscuits and Corncob Wars to readers and residents of the facility.
HBCW was a creation of Troy Rushing, recently deceased member of SWC, and the book was donated to the Montclair library in his memory, along with several large-print books.

Montclair resident
Annie Laurie Savage, left, a past member of SWC and charter member of Centenary Senior Writers, was our hostess for the afternoon. Dr. David Abdehou, Montclair owner, attended the memorial presentation. Later, we listened to favorite old music sung and played by visiting performers while we enjoyed delicious punch and a cake prepared in our honor.
